THIS SUNDAY’S SERMONS

No one likes to think about Hell, much less hear a sermon about it.  But as we look carefully at the words of Jesus, we find that He makes constant references to it in His teaching.  He loves us enough to warn us, to tell us the truth, and to die so that no one would have to go to that place which was prepared for the devil and his angels.  Last Sunday we focused on what Jesus teaches us about Heaven and the Holy Spirit.  This Sunday we will look together at what Jesus teaches about Hell and Satan.  Pray that God will use these messages in a powerful way to help us understand His great compassion and the victory He offers to everyone who will put their trust in Him.

FBC Back Parking Lot

We would love for all children and parents to make our church the first stop on their Trick or Treating route.  We will have reflective bags to give to each child.  A portion of the parking lot will be set up for children to receive candy and prizes.  Those who would like to give out candy are encouraged to call the church office and sign up so that we can reserve a parking space for you.  “Trunk or Treat” will take the place of our regular Wednesday night activities.

OVER AND ABOVE PROJECTS

“I believe something extra-ordinary is possible!”

We have received $135,145.48 to date for the parking lot project.  Gifts contributed at this point will not only help us pay for the new parking lot but will keep us from exhausting our Capital Needs Fund which is needed for future projects.  Your gifts are greatly appreciated.  The church voted this past Sunday to adopt two new Over and Above projects.  The new projects are a Heating and Air-Conditioning System for the Church Sanctuary and the Renovation of our Kitchen and Fellowship Hall.

PRAYER MEETING

Each Tuesday Morning * 7:00 -7:30 am

All are welcome!

THANK YOU!

Dearest Andrew and First Woodruff, I cannot find the words to say enough about how “GREAT” God has been this week.  Through the prayers, calls, cards and concern from all we hold so dear at First Baptist, I know God has once again touched my life in a mighty way and I know the many prayers lifted up brought this to His loving attention.  Thank you all again and please continue to remember us daily.

In Christian Love, Tony & Kathy Skinner

Dear Andrew and Church members, Thank you so much for the prayers, visits, and the beautiful cards.  Your thoughtfulness was very much appreciated.  I am much better and hope to be back in church soon. With love, Mary Turner
