What on Earth are WE here for?

A Church-Wide Spiritual Growth Campaign

Daily Devotions!

Each day we will focus on a different “One Another” passage from Holy Scripture.  The Devotional Guide, Better Together, also contains the Sunday School lessons for the 40 Days. The guides are $7.00.  If you are able, purchase one for yourself & one for a friend.  If you are not able to purchase one, we are happy to provide one for you.  Special study guides and devotionals for youth and children will be given out in Sunday School.

Sunday School – Small Group Bible Study!

Join us this Sunday whether you are a member of a Sunday School class or not.  All the adults will begin together in the church sanctuary where Rick Warren will introduce the Scripture lesson.  Then we will go to our regular classes for a time of discussion.  If you are not part of a class we will help you to find a group you are comfortable with.  Everything will begin at 9:45 am so you will want to be here before that.  Set an extra alarm.  Work out a telephone wake up system in your class.  Do whatever it takes, so that you will not miss out and be able to experience spiritual growth.

Scripture Memory!

Each week as you enter the Church Sanctuary for Sunday School you will be given a special verse that will fit on the 40 Days of Community key ring that we will give you.  The whole congregation will work together to memorize one verse of scripture each week.  Special key rings will be given out in the youth and children’s classes.

The Purpose Driven “National Simulcast”!

This Sunday night, September 24, we will view together the “National Simulcast” to prepare us for the 40 Days of Community.  There will be powerful preaching, testimonies and music.  The simulcast features Rick Warren, author of The Purpose Driven Life.  You will not want to miss this event.

Host Homes Needed!

Would you consider hosting a “small group Bible study” in your home during 40 Days of Community?  The study features a DVD by Rick Warren with discussion questions provided.  This is an excellent way to reach neighbors, co-workers, or family who are reluctant to come with you to church.  Contact our pastor if you would like to pursue this opportunity.

THANK YOU!

Dear Church Family, Words can never express our thanks to you for the outpouring of love & concern when we lost our dear loved one.  The prayers that were offered on our behalf meant so much to us.  The cards & calls were much appreciated too.  Andrew, thank you for being with us in our time of need.  We will always remember your kindness & support, love & concern.  Kelly & Debra, your visits meant a lot to us.  Thank you to the Group who fixed the wonderful meal for us.  It really was a big help on the day of Bud’s funeral.  Appreciation to all the friends who brought food too.  Bud loved his church & especially all his friends in the Fellowship Class.  They and other friends & neighbors have been helping gather Bud’s produce.  What a wonderful expression of love!  You will never know what this has meant to us.  The love has been wonderful.  Please remember us in your prayers.

               Love, Joanne Kiser & Family

Dear Church Family, Thank you for your prayers, your cards, your love & caring concern when my son, Jim, was diagnosed with cancer.  Because God still performs miracles, Jim was able to begin his 37th year as a professor at Furman University.  To God be the glory!                      Sincerely, Emily Edwards

Thank you for your visits, love & support.  Thanks also to the ladies & Bob Hix for doing lunch for us.  It was just so very nice.                  In Christian love, Inez Drummond & Family

Dear FBC, I am writing to thank you for praying for Pastor Andrew’s nephew, Jared Shull, through his 14 months of ordeal with his eyes.  He will have an additional surgery this Thursday which should show us how much of his vision has been permanently lost & how much has been restored.  Pray with us for the miraculous touch of the Great Physician.

Thank you so much, Tim Shull
