What on Earth are WE here for?

A Church-Wide Spiritual Growth Campaign

Sunday School:  A Place to Grow and Belong!

Join us each Sunday during the 40 Days whether you are a member of a Sunday School class or not.  Adults & Youth will begin together in the church sanctuary where Rick Warren will introduce the Scripture lesson.  Then we will go to our regular classes for a time of discussion.  If you are not part of a class we will help you to find a group you are comfortable with.  Everything will begin at 9:45 am so you will want to be here before that.  Set an extra alarm.  Work out a telephone wake up system in your class.  Do whatever it takes, so that you will not miss out and be able to experience spiritual growth.  This past Sunday the 3rd - 5th Grade Sunday School Class had the highest percentage of their class members in attendance.  This class is taught by Mark and Kathy Soza.  Jean Bonds serves as the secretary.  We give thanks for the children and for the example they have set for the youth and adults.

Home Bible Studies!

Zane & Lauren Orias, Skip & Pam Scott, and Jim & Kay Young would like to host a 40 Days of Community Small Group Bible Study in their homes.  This is an excellent opportunity to reach neighbors, co-workers, friends and family members who are not already part of a Sunday School class here at First Baptist.  If you are interested in joining one of these groups or know of people to whom we could extend a special invitation, please contact the church office.

“Better Together” Devotional Guides!

Copies of Better Together, the devotional guide for 40 Days of Community and copies of The Purpose Driven Life are available for $7.00.  If you are not able to purchase these books we are happy to provide them for you.

Appreciation is expressed to all who took part in Monday’s Blood Drive in Honor of Donna Hembree.  If you were not able to give on Monday, you can give at any time and simply ask that it be credited to Donna.  Because our church is part of the blood donation program, any church member who needs blood is covered free of charge by the Piedmont Blood Center (this does not cover the additional fees added by the hospitals.)  There is a critical need for blood in the upstate at this time.  Give the gift of life!
