COMMUNITY OUTREACH MEAL

Wednesday, November 21

Each year we prepare a Thanksgiving Meal for the people of our community.  We do this especially for those who are in need.  Please be here by 8:15 if you are planning to help.  Join in this wonderful ministry.

 

FOOD DRIVE

The GA’s are sponsoring a Canned Food Drive for Helping Hands Ministries.  Collection boxes are located in the Sunday School Classes and in the foyers.

FIRST BAPTIST BLOOD DRIVE

Next Wednesday, Nov. 28  *  3:00 – 7:00 pm

 

POINSETTIAS

You are invited to help decorate our sanctuary during the Christmas Season by placing a poinsettia In Memory of or In Honor of a loved one.  The last day to place your order is November 28.  The poinsettias will be in our sanctuary beginning the second Sunday of December.  Come by the church office to sign up.  The cost is $10.00.

HOLIDAY GET AWAY

Please pray for the 35 adults that will take part in this special trip to the Smoky Mountains.  The group will leave this Monday at 9:00 am and will be returning on Wednesday afternoon.

 

 

HANGING OF THE GREEN

Presented by our Preschool and Children’s Choirs

Sunday, December 2  *  6:00 pm

Join us as our preschoolers and children lead us in a wonderful time of worship as we prepare our sanctuary and our hearts for the Christmas Season.  There will be a special rehearsal on Saturday, December 1, for children at 9:30 am and for preschoolers at 10:30 am.

Youth Christmas Program

All youth are invited to join us next Wednesday, Nov. 28, for Youth Lighthouse, Acteens & Challengers, and a time to work together on the Youth Christmas Program.  The program and will be presented Sunday night, December 16, and will focus on the gifts we have received and the gifts we can give.  Use your gifts for the Lord!

COMMUNITY MEMORIAL SERVICE

You are invited to this special service sponsored by Healing Heart, a grief support group ministry.    It is open to everyone, especially those who have lost loved ones and will include a candle light memorial.

BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS

The Health Ministry Team urges everyone to have their blood pressure checked regularly.  Stop by the Health Ministry Room before or after Sunday School.

 

MEDICAL EQUIPMENT

The Health Ministry Team keeps a closet of equipment that is available to be loaned out when needed.  At present we have:  bedside commodes, shower chairs, an oxygen concentrator, adult crutches, walkers (stationary, folding & with wheels), & wheelchairs.  Please call the church office if you need to borrow any of these items.  The team can also assist if glucose meters or other equipment is needed.

 

BEREAVEMENT MINISTRY

Throughout the year, groups serve on a rotating basis, to prepare a meal the day of the funeral when there is death in our church membership.  Please call the church office if you would like to be part of this ministry.

The church office will be closed Nov. 22-23.  The Community Meal will be from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm on Wednesday, November 21.  No services or activities will be held at the church this Wednesday night, November 21.

COOKIE BAKING CONTEST
