SOLDIER CARE BOXES

Help encourage our soldiers by bringing items for the Soldier Care Boxes.  A collection box has been placed across from the Welcome Center.  The boxes will be shipped in June.

The American Cancer Society’s

RELAY FOR LIFE

This year’s Relay will be June 6-7 at Woodruff Middle School.   Luminary bags may be purchased on Sunday at the Relay table in the back foyer or in the church office.  If everyone in the church bought just 1 luminary bag for the Relay, it would make a fantastic contribution.

SC SINGING CHURCHMEN

The South Carolina Singing Churchmen is made up of over 50 Ministers of Music from across the state. The concert will include selections representing many different musical styles.  All are welcome!

 

 

THE CASE FOR A CREATOR

Sunday, May 25  *  6:00 pm

Based on Lee Strobel’s book, The Case for a Creator, the film examines 21st century science in an informative and enjoyable way presenting the complexity and wonder of the galaxies as well as the worlds within a single cell.  Strobel states: “My road to atheism was paved by science… but ironically, so was my later journey to God.”  Join us as we celebrate God’s incredible creation.

 

 

WORLD CHANGERS MEETING

There will be a World Changers Participant & Parent meeting next Sunday, May 25, at 5:00 pm in the Prayer Meeting Room.  All parents & participants need to attend this meeting.  In addition to presenting information about the project, we will be filling out & notarizing medical & insurance forms.  At present, we have 24 youth & adults who have committed to serve in Cherokee, NC, June 14 -21.  Please continue to pray for this mission effort.

 

 

FOUR FOR HIM & FRIENDS

IN CONCERT

Sunday, June 1  * 6:00 pm

We give thanks for the way our quartet leads in worship.  They are preparing to present a concert for our church and community on Sunday night, June 1.  After the concert we will enjoy a “Homemade Ice-Cream Fellowship.”  Four For Him is made up of Bobby Blanton, Mike Elliott, Bob Howard, and John Ward.

 

 

EVELYN HENDERSON OFFERING

At the 25th Anniversary Gala for the Spartanburg County Baptist Network, an offering was received that will be used to help purchase a Disaster Relief Trailer and will assist Hispanic Summer Missions.  If you were unable to attend and would like to contribute simply write ‘Evelyn Henderson’ on the envelope.  Each person that is able is asked to consider contributing $25.00 in honor of the Network’s 25th Anniversary.

 

 

End of the School Year Celebration

50th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

CHURCH PLANTING IN MOSCOW

Earlier this year, Brad Stamey, a church planter in Moscow, was scheduled to be with us but was unable to make the trip because of an injury.  His visit has been re-scheduled for Sunday morning, June 8.  Brad and his wife, Lori, have three children and are on stateside assignment in NC.  They have served for the past 10 years as missionaries in Moscow and will be returning to Moscow in August.  Brad and Lori are friends of our pastor from when they studied together at Southern Seminary and were featured in the Week of Prayer material this past December.
