40 DAYS OF COMMUNITY

September 24 – November 11, 2006

Back in 2004, our church family was blessed as we participated in 40 Days of Purpose.  This fall we will take the next step.  40 Days of Community focuses on how we can help one another.  The devotionals, Bible studies, Scripture memory, & worship services will respond to the question, “What on earth are we here for?”  Please be praying that the Lord will work in a powerful way.

Everyone will need a copy of the 40 Days of Community Workbook: Better Together.  The workbook includes 40 Days of Devotions, 40 Days of Journaling, and the Small Group Study Guide.  These may be purchased in the church office at a cost of $7.00.  We encourage you, if you are able, to purchase one for yourself and one for a friend.  Different workbooks for youth and children will be provided.  We can also order copies of The Purpose Driven Life, (The devotional guide for 40 Days of Purpose), at a cost of $7.00.  You may want to consider using it in your devotions this summer as we prepare for what God will do this fall.

MID-WEEK SERVICE

Join us for Bible study each Wednesday at 6:30 pm!

THANK YOU!

Dear Sunday School Class and Church, Thank you so much for the cards and prayers during my recent surgery.  Having such a loving church family is a true blessing.  Andrew’s visits meant so much.  You all truly show Christ.  Sincerely,

                                                                   Frances Owensby

Dear First Baptist, Thank you so much for allowing me to participate in the service Sunday.  It meant so much to me that you wanted to include me.  Also, thank you for the beautiful Bible, one I will keep with me always.  Again thank you so much and God bless!  Miranda Brown

Dear Church Family, Thank you for the Bible, your love and your support shown to me through all the years.  I have learned God’s word through mission friends, royal ambassadors, and youth activities.  Now, as I enter college please continue to pray for me.  I plan to attend USC-Columbia this fall.  In Christ’s love, Daniel Allen Craig

Dear Andrew, Mrs. Kelly, and Church Friends, Thank you for setting up a graduation ceremony for us and for taking the time to honor our accomplishments.  I am sure that all of you were as excited as we were for graduating.  I also thank you all for the lunch and for going through the trouble to prepare it for us.  And thank you for the engraved Bible.  My dad is even filling out the family tree.  Love, John Michael Soza

Thank you Church Family for the Bible and the lunch after the graduation service.  Thanks to the Smith’s for a wonderful breakfast.  With Love, David Babson

Dear First Baptist Church Family, Thank you for all the kindness you have shown to our mother, Grace Lanford.  She loved her church.  The cards, visits, gifts and prayers were very much appreciated and she looked forward to the visits from the Friendship Sunday School Class and the Care Visit Groups.  Also, thank you to all the ladies who prepared the delicious meal.  It was truly a godsend to our family.  Sincerely, The Family of Grace Lanford
