40 DAYS OF COMMUNITY

What on Earth are we here for?

A Church-Wide Spiritual Growth Campaign

Beginning September 24, 2006

Be praying that God will be at work in a powerful way!  The Devotional Guides may be purchased in the church office at a cost of $7.00.  We encourage you, if you are able, to purchase one for yourself and one for a friend.    The guides include 40 Days of Devotions, 40 Days of Journaling, and the Small Group/Sunday School Lessons.  Different guides for youth and children will be provided.

We also have copies of The Purpose Driven Life, that can be purchased at a cost of $7.00.  Consider using it in your devotions this summer as we prepare for what God will do this fall.

The following testimony came from a church as they were going through 40 Days of Community:  The experience has been wonderful. At the very beginning of the campaign we had two families who had a falling out the week prior to the campaign. One night about 4 days into the campaign one of the ladies heard a knock on her door. When she opened it one of the ladies she had been at odds with was standing there with tears in her eyes. She said she had been reading her Better Together book and realized she was in need of making things right. About 1/2 hour later another knock came and when she opened the door the second time the other lady was standing there with her book in her hand begging for forgiveness. This past Sunday I saw the 3 ladies praying and caring for each other!

IT CAME FROM WITHIN

Our Sunday Evening Services in August will feature ideas from God’s word developed in Andy Stanley’s book, It Came From Within.  There are monsters in the human heart that we need to confront.  Learn to attack guilt with confession; anger with forgiveness; greed with generosity; and jealousy with celebration.  Be praying that the Lord will use these services in a powerful way.

EXTENDED SUNDAY SCHOOL

Each month Sunday School Teachers visit in homes, teach the Sunday School lesson and bring materials for Christian Growth to those in our congregation who are not able to attend Sunday School on Sunday mornings.  If you or someone you love would like to receive these monthly visits, please call the church office.
