WEDNESDAY NIGHT WORKERS

We are gearing up for another fantastic year with our School-Year Wednesday night program.  Let us know if you would like to help.  We are especially in need of folks to work with our preschoolers.  Our fall programs will begin on August 23.  A schedule for the new school year is posted on our church web site, www.woodruff1st.org.

ATTENTION COLLEGE STUDENTS

We want to keep in touch with you.  Please let us know your new school address.  Our e-mail address is office@woodruff1st.org.

RICE BOWLS

Plastic “Rice Bowl” banks for World Hunger were distributed earlier this year.  When your Rice Bowl is full, please bring it to the church office.  Funds contributed will be used to help the hungry - locally, nationally, & internationally.

BOOKBAGS NEEDED

The Martha Lewis Mission Group is collecting book bags for the Woodruff Primary School.  If you would like to contribute, you may bring them to the church office.  The school has asked that the book bags not have any rollers or wheels attached to them.  Thanks for your help in making a child’s school year brighter.

WOODRUFF COMMUNITY REVIVAL

Fall for Jesus

September 17 – 21, 2006  *  First Baptist Church

The revival is being planned by Woodruff area ministers and churches across racial and denominational lines.  The goal is to bring the whole community together to focus on our relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.  Our church has been asked to serve as the host church for this community event.  Pray that the Lord will be at work in a powerful way.

THANK YOU!

Dear Church Family, We would like to thank each of you for the love shown us during our husband’s/father’s illness and death and also my illness and surgery this year.  Your thoughts, prayers, cards and expressions of concern were so encouraging.  I am getting stronger every day and am grateful to God for taking my healing this far.  Please continue to pray for both of us.  We are fortunate to have such a caring church family.  Sincerely, Frances and Thomasene Owensby

To My Church Family,  Thank you all so much for the cards, calls and prayers during my illness.  They are much appreciated.  Please continue to remember me as you pray.  May God bless each of you.

In Christian Love, Michiko Phillips
