PREPARATION DAY

The First Baptist Health Ministry Team is sponsoring Preparation Day this Sunday, February 3.

Get help and information concerning:

Sunday School in the Sanctuary

During the Sunday School hour, Coleman Catoe, an attorney with the Baptist Foundation of South Carolina will be in our church sanctuary to present information and answer questions.  All are welcome.  Sunday School classes are asked to come directly to the sanctuary (we will take attendance there.)

Worship Service with Dr. Lonnie Shull

Dr. Lonnie Shull, our pastor’s father, will be our pulpit guest.  Dr. Shull serves as a field representative with the Baptist Foundation.  He was awarded the Order of the Palmetto, South Carolina’s highest honor, after serving 50 continuous years as a pastor.  He is a former SC Baptist Convention President & International Mission Board Trustee.  He & his wife, Hazel, have 3 sons & 3 grandchildren.  We look forward to the blessings we will receive as Dr. Shull shares from God’s word.

Soup and Sandwich Luncheon

Following the worship service, we will have a Soup and Sandwich Luncheon for the entire congregation.  Proceeds from lunch will go toward our Over and Above Fund.

Afternoon Appointments

After lunch, Coleman Catoe and Rev. Neal Cochran, a chaplain with the GHS, will be available for appointments.  They will answer questions, provide information and can complete some of these documents for those who are interested as time allows.  There is no charge for these services.  Please call the church office if you are interested in scheduling an appointment.

No Evening Service

Due to the luncheon and afternoon appointments we will not return for an evening service this Sunday.

Bring your friends to this special service of worship as we focus on what it means to die to self and live for God.  First Presbyterian Church will be hosting this service for our congregation and the congregation of Emma Gray Memorial United Methodist Church.  Supper, Choirs, Lighthouse & Mission Groups will meet at First Baptist that night on an adjusted schedule.  Parents are asked to pick up their children at 6:40 pm.
