PREPARATION DAY

The First Baptist Health Ministry Team is sponsoring Preparation Day next Sunday, February 3.

Get help and information concerning:

Sunday School

During the Sunday School hour, Coleman Catoe, an attorney with the Baptist Foundation of South Carolina will be in our church sanctuary to present information and answer questions.  All are welcome.  Sunday School classes are invited to come as a class or as individuals. 

Worship Service

During the worship service, Dr. Lonnie Shull, our pastor’s father, will be preaching about the need for spiritual preparation.

Lunch

Following the worship service, we will have a Soup and Sandwich Luncheon for the entire congregation.  Proceeds from lunch will go toward our Over and Above Fund.

Afternoon Appointments

After lunch, Coleman Catoe and Rev. Neal Cochran, a chaplain with the GHS, will be available for appointments.  They will answer questions, provide information and can complete some of these documents for those who are interested as time allows.  There is no charge for these services.  Please call the church office if you are interested in scheduling an appointment.

 

SOUP AND SANDWICH LUNCHEON

Sunday, February 3

We look forward to a great time of food and fellowship on Super Bowl Sunday and Preparation Day.  If you would be interested in helping make soup, sandwiches or dessert, please contact Pam Scott or the church office.

 

CLOTHES CLOSET

During the month of January, our church has been staffing the Woodruff Community Clothes Closet on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.  If you would like to help this Saturday, please contact Carolyn Culbreath or the church office.

WINTER WEATHER POLICY

If weather conditions cause District 4 Schools to cancel classes, then activities & services here at the church will also be cancelled.  If weather conditions deteriorate during school, please call the church office for information.  On the weekends if a decision is made to cancel services, your Sunday School teacher & your deacon will be called and the answering machine at the church will be updated.

Bring your friends to this special service of worship as we focus on what it means to die to self and live for God.  First Presbyterian Church will be hosting this service for our congregation and the congregation of Emma Gray Memorial United Methodist Church.  Supper, Choirs, Lighthouse & Mission Groups will meet at First Baptist that night on an adjusted schedule.
