Fellowship Supper, Preschool Choir, Music Makers, Young Musicians, Youth Lighthouse, Mission Friends, GA’s, RA’s, Acteens, Challengers, The Mid-Week Service, and Adult Choir Rehearsal begin their fall programs next week.  Pray that the Lord will use each of these activities in a powerful way!

The Woodruff Community Mothers of Preschoolers Group will meet at our church on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month.  Volunteers are needed to help staff the nursery.  Contact Susan Cooper or the church office for more information.

Join us as we encourage, support, and pray for these men and women who put their lives at risk for the safety of our community.  Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright and Chaplain Jerry Clevenger will be sharing during the service.

FAMILY FUN NIGHT!

(And Blood Drive)

Today, August 16  *  5:30 – 7:30 pm

Join with us for this great family event!  Parents need to be here to enjoy the festivities and to supervise their children.  All are welcome!  This year’s event features:  The Moon Walk, The Water Slide*, The Dunking Booth, The Giant Slide, Hot Dogs, Chips, Sweets, and Drinks.  The Piedmont Blood Center will be here to receive donations from 3:00 - 7:00 pm.

*Bring a towel.

 

FALL YOUTH RETREAT

September 3 - 4  *  McCall RA Camp

Diagnõsis:  Learning to Take the Path Less Traveled!

This year's Bible Study is based on Titus 2:12.  "It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age."   We will encourage each other to live for the heart of God and learn practical ways to make God-centered decisions.  Recreational activities may include a 140-Foot Water Slide, Plumb Line, High & Low Ropes, Pamper Pole, Sky Glide, and Capture the Flag.  We will leave Sunday afternoon and return Monday evening.  The cost of $35 includes everything except snacks or souvenirs.  Sign up through the church office by Sunday, August 27, to receive a free T-Shirt.

WOODRUFF COMMUNITY REVIVAL

Fall for Jesus!

September 17 – 21, 2006  *  First Baptist Church

Our church has been asked to serve as the host church for this community event.  Be praying as we seek to Lift up the Name of Jesus!  Volunteers are needed to serve as greeters, ushers, parking lot attendants, children’s worship helpers and nursery helpers.  Contact the church office if you will be able to help.

 

Community Revival Choir

A mass choir made up of musicians from churches across the Woodruff Community will lead in worship during the Community Revival.  You are invited to take part.  Rev. Curtis Terry, Associate Pastor at the Church of God, will be directing the Community Choir.  The choir will meet prior to the service each night and special rehearsals will be held in the next few weeks.  Watch this space for more information.

 

Revival Prayer Meetings

Join with Christians from across our community as we gather in our church sanctuary to pray for the revival efforts and for the Lord to pour out His Spirit on the Woodruff Community.

 

Outreach!

Saturday, September 16

On the Saturday prior to the Community Revival, we will prayer-walk the neighborhoods and give out “door-hangers” with information about the Community Revival.  We will also have a booth at the Woodruff Fall Festival where we will give out water bottles with information about the revival printed on the labels.  If you would like to be part of either of these projects, please contact the church office.
