MID WEEK SERVICES

Wednesday, August 8

Join us as we conclude our study of The Book of Job.  Even if you have not been able to be with us for the study, join us on August 8 as we study Job 40-42 in detail and then reflect back on the things we have learned from the book as a whole.

Wednesday, August 15

Many people believe many different things about prayer.  Of all the things Jesus disciples could have asked Him to teach them, they asked Him to teach them to pray.  Join with us as we look together at What Jesus Teaches Us About Prayer.

Wednesday, August 22

Join us for Family Fun Night.  This is a great time of outreach, fellowship and fun.  Family Fun Night will take the place of our regular Mid-Week Service on August 22.

Wednesday, August 29

Join us as we begin a brand new study series in The Psalms.  The Psalms have been a bedrock of comfort and a tower of strength for believers in every experience of life from soul-stirring heights of praise to heart-rending depths of despair.  Come ready to receive a blessing!

THEN JESUS CAME!

In the old Saturday morning serials, the villain would tie a woman to the railroad tracks or she would be in danger of having a swinging pendulum blade cut through her.  Then the hero would arrive, she would be rescued, and they would ride off into the sunset together.  This Sunday morning, we will look at several people in the New Testament who were “rescued” and forever changed “when Jesus comes to stay.”  He longs to bring that kind of help to us today.

When Jesus comes, the tempter's power is broken;

When Jesus comes, the tears are wiped away.

He takes the gloom and fills the life with glory,

For all is changed when Jesus comes to stay.

THE WONDERFUL FOOL!

In Shusaku Endo's book, The Wonderful Fool, he tells the story of a strange man who journeys to Japan to visit his childhood pen pals.  The man treats everyone he encounters with such kindness, trust, and goodness that he appears foolish.  Endo writes... "For the first time in her life Tomoe came to the realization that there are fools and fools. A man who loves others with an open-hearted simplicity, who trusts others, no matter who they are, even if he is deceived or even betrayed - such a man in the present-day world is bound to be written off as a fool. And so he is. But not just an ordinary fool. He is wonderful fool. He is a wonderful fool who will never allow the little light which he sheds along man's way to go out."  Does living as Christ commands us to live cause us to be viewed as foolish?  Are we willing to be "fools for Christ?"  Join in as we gather this Sunday night as a family of faith.
