BOOKBAGS NEEDED

The Martha Lewis Mission Group is collecting book bags for the Woodruff Primary School.  If you would like to contribute, you may bring them to the church office.  The school has asked that the book bags not have any rollers or wheels attached to them.  Thanks for your help in making a child’s school year brighter.

IT CAME FROM WITHIN

Our Sunday Evening Services in August will feature ideas from God’s word developed in Andy Stanley’s book, It Came From Within.  There are monsters in the human heart that we need to confront.  Learn to attack guilt with confession; anger with forgiveness; greed with generosity; and jealousy with celebration.  The series will be introduced this Sunday morning as we think together about what lurks in the heart.  Be praying that the Lord will use these services in a powerful way.

40 DAYS OF COMMUNITY

What on Earth are we here for?

A Church-Wide Spiritual Growth Campaign

Beginning September 24, 2006

Be praying that God will be at work in a powerful way!  The Devotional Guides may be purchased in the church office at a cost of $7.00.  We encourage you, if you are able, to purchase one for yourself and one for a friend.    The guides include 40 Days of Devotions, 40 Days of Journaling, and the Small Group/Sunday School Lessons.  Different guides for youth and children will be provided.

We also have copies of The Purpose Driven Life that can be purchased at a cost of $7.00.  Consider using it in your devotions this summer as we prepare for what God will do this fall.

The following testimony came from a church that experienced 40 Days of Community:  40 Days of Community had a far greater impact on the lives of those both inside and outside the church than that of 40 Days of Purpose. It made everyone realize just how connected they were to each other and what God can do when everyone unites in His purpose and mind. We didn't realize how individually focused we were until moving through this campaign. It opened eyes, hearts, and minds and broke individual thinking for community thinking. I recommend that every church tries to incorporate 40 Days of Community to their communities.
