PARKING LOT UPDATE

Light installation and asphalt are next.  We are waiting for a series of sunshiny days.  Please continue to pray for everyone who is involved in this project.  On Sundays, we encourage anyone who is able to do so to park at the High School so that our front parking spaces will be left for visitors, the elderly and the handicapped.

FOUR FOR HIM   IN CONCERT

Sunday, April 29 * 7:00 pm * Northside Baptist Church

We will worship with our friends from Northside Baptist as our First Baptist Quartet leads in worship.  Four For Him is made up of Bobby Blanton, Mike Elliott, Bob Howard, and John Ward.  The Northside congregation is planning to host a fellowship for us after the service.

American Cancer Society

RELAY FOR LIFE

If everyone in the church bought just 1 luminary bag for the Relay, it would make a fantastic contribution to the fight against cancer.  Sign up sheets are in each Sunday School class and in the church office.  This year’s Relay will be June 8-9 at Woodruff Middle School.

 

 

SEASONED ADULT CELEBRATION

April 30 & May 1 * Cornerstone Baptist Church

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER

Woodruff City Hall

Join together with other Christians in our community as we lift up our prayers for the nation.  Rev. Bill Thomason will be brining a message of hope.

 

 

SENIOR ADULT DAY EMPHASIS

Sunday, May 6

The Adult Choir invites all Senior Adults to join with them to form a large choir for Senior Adult Day.  Special rehearsals will be held Wednesday, May 2 at 6:30 pm and on Sunday, May 6 at 10:45 am.

 

 

SENIOR ADULT DAY LUNCHEON

All Senior Adults are invited to a special luncheon that will be prepared in your honor next Sunday, May 6.  Senior Adults are simply asked to let us know if you are coming so that we will know how much food to prepare.  Please call to sign up through the Church Office.  We look forward to a great time together.

EMERGENCY SHELTER TRAINING

Several years ago, our church committed to serve as a Red Cross Shelter in times of emergency.  Training courses designed to help volunteers know how to help are being offered.  Call Marge Woodruff, 706-7676, or the church office to enroll.

We will meet at the Emma Gray side of our cemetery.  Several of our youth will be working in the cemetery that morning beginning at 10:00 am.  All are welcome to join in the work.

 

 

ROTARY NIGHTS OF MUSIC

Our church will host the Spring Concerts for the bands and choruses of Spartanburg School District 4.  Donations at the door will be collected by the Woodruff Rotary Club to provide scholarships for students.  All are welcome!

MOTHER’S DAY OFFERING

Sunday, May 13, is set aside by our state convention for churches to give assistance to the South Carolina Baptist Ministries for the Aging.  There are two retirement & nursing home centers affiliated with the SC Baptist Convention -- Bethea at Darlington & Martha Franks at Laurens.  Both are wonderful places of ministry & care.  Retired pastors, missionaries & many of our members have been strengthened & blessed by these institutions.  Special envelopes are available in the foyers & in the church office.  Please prayerfully consider what you would like to do to help.

Our WMU was recently recognized for numerical growth during 2005-2006.  We are grateful to all the ladies, young people and children who are involved in mission education and action.  Our WMU is made up of Mission Friends, Girls in Action, Middle School Acteens, High School Acteens, the Morning Mission Group and the Martha Lewis Mission Group.
