great-grandson, Aiden Robert Granger.

Aiden was born on May 17.

We celebrate with Scott and Carolina Wilson in the

birth of their daughter, Celeste Carolina Wilson and with Ken and Carolyn Schlock in the birth of their granddaughter. Celeste was born on May 27.

In our Bible study time we will looking at “tough questions” that non-believers ask Christians.  This week’s question is… “Hasn’t science disproved Christianity?’

The “Tough Questions” series continues as we explore the question, If there is a God why does He allow so much suffering in the world?’

A LIGHT UNTO MY FEET

Do you have a story about how God used a particular passage of Scripture to help you when you needed it most?  Our Sunday night service this week will be a time of sharing as we listen and learn from each other and from God’s Holy Word.  If you have a story you would like to tell, please contact our pastor.

 

The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life

SOUP AND SANDWICH LUNCHEON

This Sunday, June 5 * After the Morning Service

Come & enjoy good food & fellowship.  Proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society to be used in the fight against cancer.  This year’s Relay for Life will begin Friday, June 10 at 7:00 pm at Woodruff High School.  

Luminary Bags

Luminary Bags placed In Honor or In Memory will line the walking path and each name will be called during the Memorial Service at the Woodruff Relay for Life.   Luminary bags may be purchased for $10.00 in the church office. 

 

ROOF UPDATE

Grier Roofing began work to install a TPO System on the flat roofs of the church last week.  They plan to begin work on the shingled sections on the Monday after Vacation Bible School.

DEACON NOMINATIONS

Please be prayerful about who you would nominate to serve our church through the deacon ministry.  Each member has the opportunity to nominate up to 4 people to serve for the 2011-2014 ministry term.  Forms are available in the church office and can be accepted until Sunday, July 10.

 

WORLD CHANGERS MISSION TRIP

Nashville, Tennessee  *  June 12 – 18

Youth and Adults from our church will be meeting this Saturday at 8:00 am and this Sunday at 4:00 pm to prepare for the World Changers Mission Trip.  World Changers is a ministry of the North American Mission Board.  The group from our church will join with groups from all over the US to work on houses of those in need in the Nashville, Tennessee area.

 

JUNE ADULT CHOIR REHEARSAL

Wednesday, June 29 * 6:00 – 8:00 pm

Come and join the Adult Choir!  Rehearsals in the summer will be held monthly.  Enjoy great fellowship, refreshments and singing.  All are welcome!

A Mission Group for Guys in Grades 6-12

Summer Meetings

The Challengers will be meeting this summer at the home of Keith, Christine, Chelsea and Connor Reynolds, 750 Cavins Road.  There will be time for food, fellowship, fun and a devotional lesson.  Bring a bathing suit and towel for time to swim in the pool.  Meetings in June will be from 6:00 – 7:30 pm on Wednesdays – June 8 & 22.  Call Keith or the church office if you need directions.
