SOUL SHAPING:

Disciplines that Conform You to the Image of Christ

Second Sunday Nights  *  6:00 pm

Fellowship Hall

Spiritual disciplines are tools God uses to shape you into the image of Christ.  Soul Shaping introduces you to small acts of faith and devotion you can build into the normal routine of your life.  These disciplines will allow you to remain in God’s presence so that He can teach you, change your heart, and align your will with His.  As He brings out the colors of His character in you and shapes you for His purposes, you will see your life flow in a beautiful new direction.

July 11 – From Consumerism to Intimacy

Arthur Burns was chair of the Federal Reserve, ambassador to West Germany and an advisor to presidents from Eisenhower to Reagan.  He began attending an informal White House prayer meeting during the ‘70’s.  One week a person who was unaware that Burns was Jewish called on him for the closing prayer.  He prayed, “Lord, I pray that You would bring Jews to know Jesus Christ.  I pray that You would bring Muslims to know Jesus Christ.  Finally, Lord, I pray that You would bring Christians to know Jesus Christ.”

Our study on July 11 will focus on practices that help Christians “know Jesus Christ” like - heartfelt prayer, meditation, and celebrating God’s presence

If you would like to - bring treats or snacks with you to share.  We will provide the lemonade and coffee.
