Summer Stewardship

CATCH UP YOUR GIVING!

At present, we are $16,246.41 (an average of $542 a week) behind in giving toward our church budget for the year.  God has given us some amazing opportunities and we want to be at our very best for Him.  Each area of our church’s ministry needs to be strong and vibrant.  Please consider what you can do to help us “catch up” this summer.

WMU TABLE

Have you ever wanted a little something to give somebody to encourage them and to let them know that they are loved?  Tracts do this - the right tract for the right person.  There are many tracts that do this and also they tell the person how they can belong to Jesus and have eternal life.  Tracts are available on the WMU table in the back foyer.

CASUAL SUMMER

Please feel free to dress comfortably.

Invite friends to come with you.

DR. BOBBY MORROW

Pulpit Guest  *  Next Sunday Morning, August 8

We welcome Dr. M. B. Morrow, Jr to our pulpit.  Dr. Morrow served as our pastor from 1968 to 1973.  During his ministry here a wonderful revival broke out in our community, especially with the youth.  Many of these are now serving in ministry positions.  We give thanks for the way the Lord has continued to bless our church and community through Dr. Morrow’s ministry and are delighted to have him return and share with us from God’s word.

CALLED CHURCH CONFERENCE

For the Purpose of Electing Deacons

Next Sunday Morning, August 8

At the beginning of our worship service next Sunday morning, the church will be called into conference for the purpose of electing people to serve in our deacon ministry.  Be praying for those who are considering allowing their names to be placed before the church.  We hope to list those who have agreed to serve, if elected, in this Sunday’s bulletin.

SOUL SHAPING:

Disciplines that Conform You to the Image of Christ

Next Sunday Night, August 8  *  6:00 pm

Fellowship Hall

FROM BUSINESS TO FOCUS

Barbara Brown Taylor writes, “It does seem to me that at least some of us have made an idol of exhaustion.  The only time we know we have done enough is when we are running on empty and when the ones we love most are the ones we see least.  When we lie down to sleep at night, we offer our full appointment calendars to God in lieu of prayer, believing that God – who is as busy as we are – will surely understand.”

Our study next Sunday will focus on practices that help believers maintain focus - unplugging, silence, solitude, and rest.  All are welcome!

If you would like to - bring treats or snacks with you to share.  We will provide the lemonade and coffee.
