FEARLESS

Fear permeates our society, but it is not how God intends for us to live our lives.  Paul writes, For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7  Fear Not” is commanded in Scripture 365 times.  This Sunday we will continue to look at some of our greatest fears and how they can be overcome through faith in the Almighty God!  The series is coordinated with Max Lucado’s new book Fearless.  Pray that God will use these services of worship in a powerful way!

GOLDEN AGE FELLOWSHIP

Wednesday, October 7 * 11:45 am

Join us for great food and fellowship!

Our October program guest will be:

Rodolph and May Dixon.

The Dixons were missionaries in Peru from 1967-1998.  During that time, May faithfully wrote to her mother.  After her mother’s death, they discovered that the letters had been carefully preserved.  They contain lots of funny stories and powerful insights and have been published in a book called, Orchids in a Jelly Jar.  You will not want to miss this presentation.  Jane Robelot who was scheduled to be with us in October, asked if she could come in November instead so she and the Dixons swapped places.

Hosts and Hostesses:  Richard & Mary Ruth McAbee,

Virginia McTeer, Lottie Caldwell

Devotional:  Carolyn Culbreath.

All are welcome!

FLU SHOTS

Wednesday, October 7 * 2:00 – 6:00 pm

THANKS!

Dear Family of First Baptist Church, We want to thank you for the cards, food and many visits during our loved one’s illness and death.  My mom loved attending services at First Baptist while she was staying at Aunt JoAnne’s.  She enjoyed the visits so much.  We appreciate all the acts of kindness, thoughts, and prayers during our loss.  Thank very much Andrew for your visits and helping us through our crisis before Dianne’s death.  Continue to pray for us.

FIRST BAPTIST TRAVEL MUGS

We have travel mugs to give to our visitors.  The mugs are blue and are imprinted with our church name and a beautiful drawing by Lottie Caldwell of our church steeple.  The mugs are available for purchase in the church office for $3.00.  Your purchase of a mug will help defray the cost of giving the mugs to our visitors.

EMERGENCY NUMBERS

Cards are available in the office and in the Health Ministry room for you to record telephone numbers that could be used to contact your family in case of emergency.  In this day of unlisted cell phone numbers it is sometimes difficult to know how to reach people.  The completed cards will be kept in a file in the church office.  On the back of the card is a place that gives you the option to record health information.
