SCHOOL YEAR WEDNESDAY NIGHTS

Strong Tower:  Knowing My King!

The name of the LORD is a strong tower;

the righteous run to it and are safe.  Proverbs 18:10

Fall Family Fun Night – August 19

Regular Programs Begin – August 26

We are getting ready for the new school year.  Over the years, we have been able to reach many children, young people and families through these efforts.  It takes a lot of committed people for our church to be able to provide all of the different ministries that are offered during the school year.  We are grateful for each one who has volunteered their time, energy, patience and talent.  If you are interested in helping on Wednesday nights for the 2009-2010 school year, please call the church office.

MEDICAL EQUIPMENT

The Health Ministry Team keeps a closet of equipment that is available to be loaned out when needed.  At present we have:  an electric hospital bed, bedside commodes, shower chairs, an oxygen concentrator, adult crutches, walkers (quad cane, stationary, folding & with wheels), & wheelchairs.  Let us know if you need to borrow any of these items.  The Health Ministry Team can also assist if glucose meters or other equipment is needed.

OPERATION BLOOD DRIVE

This Thursday, June 25  *  2:00 – 8:00 pm

Woodruff Bi-Lo

45 minutes = 1 unit = potentially saving 3 lives.

If you missed the recent blood drive at our church, you can donate this Thursday at the Woodruff Bi-Lo.  Our church is part of a donation plan through the Piedmont Blood Center.  Once our participation reaches a certain level it allows our members to receive blood without charge.  Donations may be credited to our church at any Piedmont Blood Drive.

WOODRUFF AREA SOUP KITCHEN

The soup kitchen serves between 30 to 50 people a day, five days a week.  They are presently in need of volunteers, monetary support, divided plates, plastic cutlery, carry out boxes, Ziploc bags, small plates, bowls, foil, paper towels, cups, dish washing soap, liquid cleaners, hand sanitizer, cleaning wipes, plastic gloves, sweet pickle relish, salt and pepper, ketchup, spaghetti sauce, cheese sauce, cream soups, tea, sugar, soft drinks, and juice.

WITH LOVE AND APPRECIATION FOR

BOBBY BLANTON

We give thanks to God for Bobby and for his ministry through music.  He will complete his 9th year of service this week as our Music Director.  He began serving with us on June 25, 2000.  In addition to his responsibilities with the Adult Choir, worship planning, leading our congregational worship, musicals and other special events, Bobby works with the Quartet and the Praise Team who have touched our hearts in many ways.  We have been richly blessed through his gifts and abilities and are so grateful that he, Carla, Christopher and Jonathan are part of our family.  Pray for the Blantons daily as they seek to faithfully live out God’s call in their lives.

WELCOME REVEREND DILL

We welcome Reverend Amy Dill to the Woodruff Community.  She is the new pastor of the Emma Gray Memorial United Methodist Church.  Please pray for her as she begins her ministry in our community.
