 RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE CHURCH FACILITY

Over the last several months, the Property Committee and the Diaconate have been collecting bids to paint or to “coat” the outside of our church facility.  We last painted in 2003 and have many places where the paint has chipped away leaving exposed wood.  Sunday night we will consider a recommendation that the church employ Palmetto Custom Coatings to “coat” the exterior of the church.  The product they will use lasts much longer than paint.  It is waterproof, ten times thicker than paint, has a soft satin finish, is mildew resistant, crack resistant and is cold weather flexible.  It comes with a 25 year guarantee.  They will also coat our steeple.  (Our steeple has leaked for many years and we feel that coating the copper sections as well as the wood sections will help with this problem.)  Many of our church members as well neighboring churches have had a good experience with this company.  The Diaconate further recommends that we change the color of the exterior of the church from almond to white.  We have received a bid from Spartanburg Siding & Window Co., LLL. to replace all of the vinyl siding around the church.  The estimated costs are $37,202.50 from Palmetto Custom Coating; $3,800.00 from Campbell Inc., Crane Rental & Rigging; and $7,400.00 from Spartanburg Siding & Window Co., LLL  This would bring the anticipated total cost of the project to $48,402.50.  The Property Committee and the Diaconate further recommend that we employ Rick Ivestor to continue the interior painting project by painting the office area.  The color scheme of the sanctuary and prayer meeting room would be used.  The anticipated cost is $3,100.00.  Expenditures for these projects would come from the Capital Needs Fund.  Our January Conference will be held in the Fellowship Hall after January Bible Study this Sunday night.

FIREPROOF

Never Leave Your Partner Behind

Sunday, February 8 * 6:00 pm

Fireproof is the third feature film from the ministry of Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia.  This is the church that brought us Flywheel and Facing the Giants.  The story centers around a firefighter and his wife who are having trouble with their marriage.  Pray that God will use this movie in an incredible way in the lives of families everywhere.  Resources to “fireproof your marriage” are available through the movie’s website:  www.fireproofthemovie.com.  Invite friends, neighbors and co-workers to come with you.
